What We Do

Why Are We Helping Area Schools

Picture
Cathy Garcia-Vasquez delivered a check on behalf of Davis Days in April 2018 to Pearland ISD, paying off all negative lunch accounts for the district. The donation also included an additional $100 per campus, for all 23 PISD campuses, to help ensure these balances stay low enough for the students to continue to enjoy hot lunches for the remainder of the school year.

Having little growing up, Josh and his family rarely had the nicer things his friends had growing up. "By no means were we poor, and it’s not a complaint, but I struggled understanding why we didn’t have the clothing, binders, shoes, lunch kits, etc. that others had," said Davis. Luckily his personality allowed him to fit in with all walks of life, but there were definitely kids like him that couldn’t fit in because they didn’t dress or have what others had. So from his life experience, Davis decided to make helping kids feel more accepted by their peers a priority for Davis Days.

The foundation will help with school supply costs, lunch balances, or any other related costs associated with attending school. Please feel free to give to this area of need today.

Why Morgan's Wonderland Trip

Picture
Karsyn Brewer, inspiration for Morgan's Wonderland Trip

As early as middle school, Davis found himself wanting to help with kids who had special needs. Whether it was cleaning lunch trays with them, getting them on the sidelines of football games, or enjoying an ice cream with them, Davis always enjoyed interacting with special needs people. When his son started playing baseball, the Davis family quickly bonded with another family on the team, the Brewer family, who's daughter has Cerebral Palsy.  This amazing and beautiful young lady instantly had Davis wrapped around her little finger. When Davis came across Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio, where kids with special needs can enjoy rides and water parks, he knew it was something Davis Days should be a part of.  Davis Days wants to get as many kids as we can afford to this park for an amazing afternoon for the families that need it most.

You can give today to help fund this trip. We will be taking nominations soon!
